A Royal Baby!

Yes everyone it's true!! Duchess Kate Middleton is expecting!! I don't know what it is about the royals that make me obsessed, but this news has made me and the whole world a bit cheerier.

On Monday, the British palace announced that Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge will be expecting a royal baby. After months of speculation from tabloids, the palace released an official statement regarding Kate’s entry into a local London hospital. The Duchess was omitted for acute morning sickness, a slightly harsher form of morning sickness involving nausea and vomiting. The palace reported that she is planning to stay for several days. William has been spotted visiting Kate everyday at the hospital, and leaving at night. Reports said that he seemed to be in good spirits. This announcement comes after 19 months of marriage, their wedding being at the famous Westminster Abbey in April 2011. Many are wondering what this means for the throne. Prince William and Duchess Kate’s newborn will be next in line for the British throne after William. This holds true whether the child is a boy or girl. Recently, British government has gotten rid of the requirement that the monarch has to be ruled by a male; trumping England’s old fashioned ways. The news spread like wildfire after it was confirmed on Monday thanks to the social media site, Twitter. Tweets such as “#royalbaby” and “willandkate” were trending worldwide. Even the British Prime Minister shared some words via Twitter: “I'm delighted by the news that the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge are expecting a baby. They will make wonderful parents.” The baby has not been given an official due date but you can be sure that I, along with many others, will be ready to catch a glimpse of the new royal.
