Three Sister Pact

CAUTION: THIS TOPIC HAS SEVERE CONTENT
So I've seen and read many things on the internet about people's life situations and stories which are both shocking and sometimes inspiring. The lives people endure on a day-to-day basis is truly incredible and should not be taken for granted, as this is the only life we get to fulfill. I came across a story recently about a family who takes the phrase "through thick and thin" very heavily. It is about a family who is notorious for existing health issues of heart disease, cancer, depression; the list goes on. However the sisters within the clan, are the fourth generation expected to be diagnosed with dementia, Alzheimer's senility etc. Dealing with a father who already suffers from early stage Alzheimer's told his daughters he does not want to end up in a retirement home, but rather exit the world through suicide before his condition worsens. Now it appears his daughters have chosen to take a similar route by making a pact with one another. If either of them were to ever be diagnosed with Alzheimer's or some sort of memory loss disease, then all three of them would take their own lives. "If we are robbed of dignity, comfort and the will to live, we aim to deliver one another from a prolonged and tortured ending". One of the sister's reached out to a friend of theirs in the medical field to learn how to make a cocktail that would put them to sleep permanently, to put it lightly.
Now, I love my family as much as anyone else would, but I'm not sure that I would take these measures with any of my siblings or close family members. Personally, I believe there are other ways to deal with hurt, pain, and other overwhelming emotions that are less life threatening and I believe it is important that we find these alternatives and save ourselves or others before it is too late.
Any thoughts? I've attached the article as a reference.
