Create an anti-racist, non-sexist, queer-affirmative space where all people can feel valued and safe.
Facilitate and strengthen connections among people across lines of difference through programming and educational campaigns.

uhhMayzing Music Monday!

Hi all!

Sorry for the abridged music blog today, but I would like you to check out and support and awesome female music artist, Lights!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JL3qQwEOV0

Lights is a Canadian-born singer/songwriter and all around awesome performer. She personally reminds me of the Postal Service, but lists her primary influence as Bjork. I linked to one of her songs that's my favorite, but I will definitely be checking out her full album when it's released (hopefully) in October. It takes a lot for female solo artists who don't fit in the cookie-cutter pop mold to break through in the industry, so it's always helpful to be supportive of the artists we like!
