And Now for Something Different...

Today is Lexi's blog day but she is not feeling well so the staff got together to put together a quick "Get Well Lexi Blog!" Here are some cute things to look at if you, too, are not feeling well OR if you're just stressed out from finals week.

For starters it wouldn't be a silly Women's Center post without a cute kitty, so here's a video that I (Jill) found. Its of a cat who would totally sit &wait for you to feel better and/or stop studying and play with her!

On a totally unrelated note, Riles has shared a list of 45 Totally Superficial Reasons Why Hillary Clinton Should Run for President in 2016. This is the closest we will come to any sort of Social Justice/Political relevance today so... enjoy it! (To editorialize just a little bit... I am not 100% cool with numbers 16 & 17, which talk about how much better she looks compared to Angela Merkel, because I don't like how women are constantly judged based on their looks and/or pitted against each other. However, the list is, overall, very funny!)

Diana has contributed "this cool picture of a cat," that she saw today "that totally isn't a stereotypical cool picture of a cat!"

While waiting for Travis to contribute something I came across this ridiculously funny AND socially relevant (and controversial, if the comments are any indication) article by Lindy West about "Hipster Racism." We've been talking a lot about race & privilege in the Women's Center lately & I think this article summaries a lot of that conversation well (with about 50% more jokes!) Plus, I just adore Lindy West. Google more of her writing if you are looking for a funny & intelligent mental break! (Also, I suppose I lied before... we did manage to slip a bit more social justice relevance in here!)

Finally, five minutes before closing, Travis has contributed this comic to remind all of us, during the most stressful part of the school year, that we can be anything... even a bear (or a dinosaur!)

Feel free to show us more cool and or funny things in the comments, and be sure to check out some of the awesome RELAXING things we have coming up in the last two weeks of the semester, like The LAST Coffee Talk of the Semester on Thursday, May 3rd from 3pm-5pm. Drop in any time during this two hours to drink some coffee and hang out with new people in the Women's Center. We're going to start off talking about evolution/creationism & the general role of religion in schools but no one knows where the conversation will go from there...

Also, as always, the last week of the semester is Relaxation Week! From May 8th to the 11th the Women's Center will be Ramapo's own personal coffee & cookie filled paradise where students and faculty alike are welcome to come eat snacks, play Just Dance, blow bubbles, acquire prizes, and more!
