So for this week I would like to talk about the beautiful, inspiring, hilarious individual that is Ellen DeGeneres. She is the epitome of women's empowerment and it is extraordinary how much this woman has done so far in live. For those who watch her show, at the end of each episode she says, "be kind to one another"; how great is that? At least once for every show she is giving some sort of gift or recognition to people who have done remarkable things, or are in need of a little 'pick-me-up'. Ellen is an activist and advocates for several movements and initiatives including anti-bullying campaigns and is a spokesperson for Cover Girl. I can go on about all that she is involved with, but quite frankly this post would go on for pages!
When you feel like you're having a bad day and the weight of the world is on your shoulders, I encourage you to put aside the bills, or papers that are in front of you and tune in to her show; see how much she will uplift your spirits and give you the confidence to persevere through your struggles. The best thing about Ellen is her humility and genuity. Even though I am separated from her by a television screen, the way she carries herself, and how she treats everyone she meets (ha ha little rhyme action)makes it seem as though I've gotten to know her personally. I cannot wait to see what else this comedic, TV-host accomplishes next.
With that said, I'll leave you with a (Clip) of Ms. DeGeneres in action!
