Broadus is the founder of the Trans People of Color Coalition, and will discuss his aspirations for African-American and LGBT communities, his testimony before the senate, his experiences with employment discrimination, and intersectionality issues.
So as not to ruin your experience tomorrow evening, I will leave you with a brief bio of Kylar from an interview with the Transgender Law Center. Kylar is an associate professor of business law at Lincoln University, an activist, and attorney, and a public speaker from Missouri. Along with that, Kylar is published Transgender Rights, the Temple Law Journal and more, he has talked at numerous law schools, colleges, and conferences, has presented at the American Bar Association, speaks and lobbies on all levels for transgender and sexual orientation law and advocacy, and serves on the board of the National Black Justice Coalition, National Stonewall Democrats, and as the interim secretary. His accomplishments do not stop here.
Kylar states that he has been described as a "jack of all trades and a master of none" due to his activity on the local, state and national levels. He notes that is it important to show up and be active, something that I believe is extremely useful when you are an activist.
This is an event you don't want to miss and also a great learning opportunity!
Hope to see everyone at ASB135 tomorrow!
